Itinerary

Day 1: Uros Islands – Taquile Island

We’ll begin the adventure with pickup from your hotel to Puno’s lake port, where you’ll board a comfortable motorboat that will take us to the stunning floating island of the Uros. There, you’ll have the opportunity to explore this unique environment for 45 minutes.

Our friendly, English- and Spanish-speaking guide will accompany you from the starting point, sharing valuable information about the life and traditions of the local inhabitants.

The Uros are an ancestral community that inhabits more than 40 islands built with totora reeds by their residents. They use these reeds to build their homes, make boats (rafts), and even for fuel and food. On this excursion, we’ll explore the main island and visit two or three additional islands, each for 30 minutes (with the option to tour them on the iconic totora reed boats).

Afterward, we’ll continue to Taquile Island, where a one-hour hike awaits us to reach the picturesque village.

In Taquile, we’ll have three hours to explore the island, enjoying the beautiful scenery and immersing ourselves in local traditions. We’ll have lunch at an authentic restaurant, where you can savor a typical lunch based on trout, a local delicacy. You’ll also have free time to explore the island and meet the locals, who will show you their way of life through their beautiful textiles.

The return trip to Puno is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., arriving around 5:00 p.m. (by regular boat) or approximately 3:50 p.m. (by speedboat). Once at the port, we’ll arrange your return transfer to your hotel.
